For using a Set Top Box as input for bitcontrol® World Wide TV, the bitcontrol® MPEG-2 Decoder and the bitcontrol® Digital TV Link is required. A full license of both is included in your order if you don't have purchased them before!

bitcontrol® World Wide TV is the transmission of a multimedia stream over Internet. The main application is transcoding of the output stream of a Set Top Box (STB) from MPEG-2 format into the Windows Media® Video or MPEG-4 format, which is more suitable for transmission over bandwidth-limited networks.

Via the bitcontrol® Digital TV Link (a full license of it can be purchased here), video streams of the following Set Top Boxes can be used as input to World Wide TV:

• "DreamBox" (see www.dream-multimedia-tv.de)
• "d-Box II" unter Linux (see www.dbox2.info und www.tuxbox.org)
• "ReelBox" unter Linux (see www.reel-multimedia.com)

Other streaming and file formats are supported depending on which codecs are installed on the computer.
